Sean O’Malley's affinity for marijuana is well-known, to the extent that he has even developed his own custom strain. However, concerns have arisen regarding whether the UFC bantamweight champion's fondness for cannabis could hinder his ability to defend himself effectively against Merab Dvalishvili, who is anticipated to challenge for the 135-pound title later this year.

Dvalishvili, known as "The Machine," has taken it upon himself to address this issue by imparting a lesson in defeat to the self-proclaimed "Suga" Sean.

“It’s hard to recognize him because he’s smoking too much,” Dvalishvili remarked. “We have lots of work to do. Sean, listen bro, you have a big fight. You’re fighting me. You gotta stop smoking, my friend.”

O’Malley clinched the championship title by defeating Aljamain Sterling in the main event of UFC 292 last August. He then continued his winning streak with a victory over Marlon Vera at UFC 299 in Miami. Meanwhile, Dvalishvili's recent triumph against Henry Cejudo at UFC 298 in Anaheim showcased his dominance in the octagon, along with his penchant for delivering pre-fight wisdom as "Professor Merab."

The UFC is anticipated to unveil the date and location of the championship bout in the coming weeks.
